About the series:
Purushasuktha (ಪುರುಷಸೂಕ್ತ) extols unique qualities of the supreme creator, the Lord himself. Its for this very purpose that this hymn finds place in all the four branches of Vedas; viz. Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda and Atharvaveda.
The rishis of the yore saw Purushasukta as the quintessence of the entire veda. There is no other hymn that compares to this.
It is said that chanting Purushasukta bestows upon the 'saadhaka' the fruit of chanting the entire veda.
What is it in this hymn that is so unique. Who else, but a Rishi himself can explain!
